Villagers in Somerset got to know one another a bit better as they supported soldiers by posing naked for a calendar.

Residents stripped off for the Village Life calendar, which aims to raise money for Help for Heroes, the Western Gazette reports.

One of the participants, 60-year-old Malcolm Brown, posed with his lawnmower for the month of May 2012 and is one of the organisers.

"We've sold 50 calendars already and if we can sell all 300 we will raise £3,000 for Help for Heroes.

"I just love this charity," Mr Brown said.

A total of 28 men joined forced for the project, with local shopkeepers, builders, decorators and footballers posing to fill the pages.

Help for Heroes was set up in 2007 and has now raised £102.3 million to help soldiers injured in the line of duty, with rehabilitation work and recreational activities among the successful schemes run by the charity.
