Dozens of people in Llanelli have come together to take part in a charity zumbathon, which was used to raise money for Help for Heroes.

Plenty of keen dancers joined forces with members of the Dyfed and Glamorgan Army Cadet force Corps of Crums to move their bodies in support of the good cause, reports the Llanelli Star.

It was organised in memory of soldier Jamie Kirkpatrick, who was from Llanelli and sadly died in 2010.

Those who took part managed to raise £2,000, which will now be used to support injured and wounded ex-servicemen and women who require assistance upon their return to the UK.

Mr Kirkpatrick's sister Claire Bell said the event had gone extremely well, adding: "The instructors did an amazing job of keeping people going when feet were getting tired and the cadet band was amazing. Thank you to all who gave up their time and money – nobody had to."ADNFCR-2867-ID-801712019-ADNFCR
