Help for Heros is certainly associated with uniforms of various sorts, given that it's a charity helping British soldiers and other people with links to the armed forces.

But it was uniforms of rather a different sort that helped the charity get a £300 donation recently.

Cordeaux Academy in Louth, Lincolnshire, helped the well known charity with a non-school uniform day earlier this month, according to the Louth Leader.

The school gave the charity £316 from the event, which took place June 5th.

Teacher at the school Stewart West gave a cheque for the sum to Liz Pridgeon from the charity.

Meanwhile, Tim Kidwell, Help for Heroes area co-ordinator, has been telling Worcester News of its Malvern plans for the summer.

June 21st will see a golf competition for the charity at Worcestershire Golf Club, with members giving their entry fees to help the charity.

Another of the various upcoming summer events will take place July 26th, when Malvern Help for Heroes will have a commemorative dinner at the Golf Club, to mark 100 years since the start of World War One.

Help for Heroes is due to get some support from 'Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red' at the Tower of London soon.

This is an installation marking the First World War centenary, according to Historic Royal Palaces, and begins on August 5th.

The Tower's moat will be filled with in excess of 800,000 ceramic poppies in an artwork created by Paul Cummins and Tom Piper, which will be in place until November 11th.

These poppies will be sold-off to help service charities like Help for Heros, Combat Stress and others.

They will cost £25 each, so its hoped that more than £15 million can be raised for charity, should the flowers all attract buyers.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801728384-ADNFCR
