Tourists heading to California in the months and years ahead may wish to think about staying in a unique hotel made of Lego.

More than three million pieces of the popular child's toy were pieced together to create features of the accommodation next to a Legoland theme park in Carlsbad.

Overall, there are 250 rooms at the hotel and all of them have been decorated in a special theme, such as adventure and pirates.

There are even interactive features such as play areas and a knight's castle and a pirate ship, all of which can be enjoyed by families who check in.

Kids are given bunk beds to sleep in, while there are queen-sized mattresses for mums and dads.

Upon arrival, people will also notice there is a mystical dragon looking down from a tower over the hotel and there are plenty of Lego models dotted throughout all the rooms.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801569521-ADNFCR
