Joan Shaw has become a hit with locals in Barnoldswick after dyeing her hair bright red and becoming a punk in support of a popular charity.
The 77-year-old pensioner decided to raise money for Help for Heroes, as well as the Bosom Friends cancer support group, and had her hair done over the weekend, reports the Lancashire Telegraph.
"It's very bright. It's certainly a bit different but it's all for a good cause. It took around three-and-a-half hours to do in total," Ms Shaw explained.
She went on to note that she will be taking to the streets of Barnoldswick to promote her actions and she is sure that her hair will shock some of her friends.
Ms Shaw added that both of the charities she is raising money for do a huge amount of great work for people and she is delighted to be in a position where she can support them.
