Help for Heroes is to be one of the charities benefitting from the money raised at a dancing event in the south of England.
According to the Portsmouth News, Waterlooville Community Centre in the city collected over £600 to send to the charity, which helps injured troops, as well as the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.
Dan Shephard, owner of Team LeRoc, which hosted the jive dance session, told the newspaper: "It was fantastic to see the support we received from local modern jive dancers. Everyone had a great night and at the same time raised money for two charities."
He added that Blue Train, the band who came from the Isle of Wight to perform at the special night, were fantastic, along with the support of those who donated raffle prizes for the good cause.
A surprise party held in honour of soldier Ryan Costello's homecoming has generated funds for brave troops, with more than £1,000 raised for Help for Heroes, the Shields Gazette recently reported.
