A number of big-name sporting stars are showing their support for soldiers by signing up to the Heroes Rugby Challenge.

The event, organised by Help for Heroes, is scheduled for December 3rd and will be held at Twickenham Stadium.

A match will take place between the Northern Hemisphere XV squad and the all-star Southern Hemisphere XV side, with professionals and members of the armed forces rugby teams making up the numbers.

Jason Leonard, who was part of England's 2003 World Cup-winning team, is just one of those to be joining in with the event.

"The aim of the Heroes Rugby Challenge is simple – to pack out Twickenham Stadium on December 3rd and raise more than £1 million for Help for Heroes in the process," he said.

He urged members of the public to show their support for the occasion and buy a ticket.

A similar event occurred in 2008 and the 52,500 spectators helped to raise some £1.46 million for the charity.
