Single soldiers who do not have much in the way of dating practice could find the internet enables them to gain more experience, it has been suggested.

In an article for the Huffington Post, Meredith Fineman noted online dating can help people learn how to approach courtship.

The expert claimed nobody dates in the traditional sense anymore, but the world wide web allows them to meet up for a one-on-one evening together.

She observed: "It's nice to learn what real dating is about – having a conversation with someone else."

Moreover, Ms Fineman indicated hooking up over the internet can have other benefits as well, such as making new friends and being introduced to new scenes and places individuals would not have otherwise been aware of.

Public relations director of panix.com Jack Wills recently suggested the popularity of online dating has been given a significant boost by people recommending the medium to their friends.
