There's nothing like a nice fry-up to start your day the right way.

But one man was determined to take this to extremes, eating a colossal amount of food in a bid to become the first ever person to defeat a massive meal at his local cafe.

Steven Magee headed to the Hungry Horse in Corby, Northamptonshire, hoping to work his way trough The Big One, which includes three portions of beef burgers, fried eggs, black pudding, sausages, bacon, beans, mushrooms, potato scones, fried bread, toast and hash browns.

Owners of the establishment charge £12 for the massive meal – which is traditionally served with tea – but anyone who can finish it doesn't have to pay.

Mr Magee tells the Northamptonshire Evening Telegraph: "I started off alright but it got harder and harder to keep eating and a couple of times I almost gave up."

It took him one hour and 20 minutes and six brews before he finally put down his cutlery.

The diner's picture is now set to go in a frame on the cafe's wall, so perhaps others will be inspired to attempt the gruelling feat.
