Money has been raised for Help for Heroes thanks to the work of five horses in Scotland.

Five of the animals in north-east Fife have had the charity's logo clipped into their tailheads in a bid to generate publicity for the good cause, reports the Courier.

While it is fairly normal to clip horses in order to allow to keep working in comfort without becoming too hot, few have had a chance to show their support for the Help for Heroes Stretcher Bearers.

But when a charity event was held at Thornbank Stables, owner of Fife-based business Balanced Horsemanship Blebo Craigs was keen to do something memorable.

Ms Craigs opted to clip the logo on her horse, Hobo, before her friend Andrew Meldrum did the same to her equine companion, Abbey.

"I decided to clip the Stretcher Bearers logo so that Abbey had something that meant something special and people thought of all the heroes at this time of year," Ms Meldrum explained.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801682074-ADNFCR
