A man in the US who scooped $50,000 (£32,692) on a lottery scratchcard has revealed he has no intention of ending his life as a homeless person.
Dennis Mahurin won the huge prize after buying a card from a local garage in Bloomington, Illinois, where he has lived on the streets since 1978.
Even the large sum of money is not enough to persuade him to leave his tent, as he believes being homeless is "in his nature".
"With all the other homeless people around here, I've made up my mind. I'm gonna give them each $100," Mr Mahurin explained.
He also told how he initially feared he had made a mistake with his ticket when the cashier seemed surprised by his claim that he had won $1,000, only to then explain he had actually won much more.
Mr Mahurin has suggested he may treat himself in one way – by purchasing a brand new tent.
