A butchers shop is playing its part in raising funds for soldiers injured while serving their country.
W Maiden and Son butchers, based in Brewood, is encouraging customers to guess the weight of two giant pumpkins – with the proceeds from the competition being donated to Help for Heroes, the Express & Star reports.
Participants are being asked to contribute 50p to take part in the contest and the winner stands to receive a gift voucher worth £20.
Bill Maiden, owner of the shop, said he and his wife were surprised to see the items grow so large.
"Barbara just went there every other day and treated them the same as she would normally. We've decided they can help us raise some money for a very worthy cause," he explained.
Red Lion Foods recently announced the profit it makes through selling products in supermarkets will be donated to the Help for Heroes charity.
