Help for Heroes to benefit from celebrity polo match

The people of St Albans have been invited to attend a charity polo match and picnic this weekend, which is being held in aid of Help for Heroes.

Polo for Heroes is putting on the event at Chiswell Green, and has even lined up several celebrities to show up to carry out a charity auction, reports the Herts Advertiser.

Champion boxer Steve Collins and Cash in the Attic star Tom Keane will both be in attendance at the event.

Last year, the charity polo match and picnic raised enough money to lay on a visit to Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon for a number of former servicemen, who were invited to a Heroes and Legends ceremony by Americans during their stay.

Trip organiser Gary Doggett said: "These trips are a real morale boost for people who have given everything for the country. We hope the people of St Albans will continue to give us their fantastic support."
