Help for Heroes intends to raise at least another £42 million to support soldiers who have been injured in the line of duty.

The charity, which is celebrating its third anniversary, has accrued £70 million to date, largely through the public's fundraising efforts.

Commenting on its success since being formed in 2007, co-founder Bryn Parry praised the response of the "ordinary, decent people" who have helped raise money to support armed forces.

"Thank you all for what you have done, every contribution is valued, big or small, and every donation is used to help our blokes," he stated, adding all of the cash raised so far is being used to provide "practical support" to soldiers who have been injured in conflicts around the world.

According to the BBC, the Red Arrows Aerobics team will soon be raising money for the charity by travelling from Lands End to John O'Groats on red Vespa scooters.
