People who are currently being helped – or have been helped in the past – by the Tedworth House Help for Heroes Recovery Centre in Wiltshire recently took part in an on-site art exhibition.

The centre holds regular art classes and is also putting on several specialised workshops during 2014, such as forthcoming sculpture and life drawing sessions.

Bryn Parry, the founder of Help for Heroes, is set to run a workshop on cartooning as part of the programme.

The centre's art classes are an element of Help for Heroes' Rolling Recovery Programme. The charity says they're really popular, which is why the centre has added the extra workshops this year.

At the recent exhibition, held during early May, there were various different sorts of art on show, including charcoal drawing and photography, as well as poetry.

Centre art teacher Jenny Arthy has spoken about how people who don't have much art experience can create extremely emotive pieces.

"If you’re not a practiced artist and you are coming to art without any instruction you have no preconceived ideas about what the piece should look like so the results can be very emotive, coming straight from the heart," she commented.

Meanwhile, it was recently announced that Matt Cardle, winner of The X Factor in 2010, is set to take part in a concert supporting Invisible Injuries and Help for Heroes.

The 'Run For Your Life' singer, who appeared on The X Factor in the same season as One Direction, is appearing in a Keep Calm Events Clevedon concert this September, alongside other performers, which will help these two charities.

Matt scored a massive number one with his debut single When We Collide back in 2010, and has released numerous successful singles and albums since.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801720326-ADNFCR
