Charity Help for Heroes, which helps ill, injured and wounded veterans and Service people, has been opening charity shops during the past two years – and has just announced a new launch in the world of retail.

Over the weekend (May 10th) it opened a concession area in the Southampton city centre branch of Debenhams, the well-known department store chain.

The charity claims it's the first time there's been a charity retail concession within a department store setting.

"We have a loyal and wide-ranging customer base who love our products and want to show their support for the Charity," explained Help for Heroes Trading Limited managing director, Helen Beebe.

"This exciting new venture with Debenhams and a growing portfolio of stores in key locations around the UK will supplement our already successful e-commerce business."

That will raise awareness for Help for Heroes and bring in more money for the organisation, she said.

Help for Heroes retail spaces don't sell second hand items, but rather new branded goods, like sports and leisurewear. Profits support the charity in delivering help for people who have become ill or injured in service.

Debenhams has donated the charity's latest retail space for free, and it's intended that further concessions will follow during the next few months, with Help for Heroes areas appearing in other UK Debenhams branches.

"We are delighted to be able to offer Help for Heroes concession space within our stores, in what is a real first for Debenhams," said CEO Michael Sharp.

Debenhams stores are not just located in the UK. In fact the brand has shops in 28 different countries, and 240 retail locations to its name overall.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801719393-ADNFCR
