A bride and groom should usually expect to be the centre of attention on their big day, but, for one unlucky couple, it's one of their guests who is making headlines around the world after crashing a supercar he had hired for the occasion.

Like many wedding guests, the unnamed man wanted to arrive to the nuptials in style, and so splashed out on hiring a £220,000 Ferrari to get him to the wedding, which was in Luton.

However, he clearly underestimated the power underneath the bonnet of the 458 Italia supercar and promptly slammed it into a terraced house, with the car ending up wedged under a taxi.

Thankfully, nobody was injured in the incident, but news of the mishap has travelled right the way around the world, and millions more people have seen pictures of the stricken supercar than have admired the wedding day snaps.

Jamie Ford, who owns the luxury car hire firm Prestige Lifestyle, explained that, while he's used to his vehicles coming back with a few dents and scrapes, this accident is in a different league altogether.

"They have done a really good job of crashing it and writing it off. It took three minutes for the insurance assessors to write it off," he said.

"I just wish people had more respect for super cars. People need to realise that they are not invincible."ADNFCR-2867-ID-801798143-ADNFCR
