A Wiltshire-based Women's Institute (WI) has organised a clothes-selling event to raise funds for Help for Heroes.

The group in Sutton Benger will hold its 'Gladrags and Handbags' sale in the village hall on Saturday and have invited people hoping to do their bit for the charity to drop by.

Christine Williams of the WI told the Gazette and Herald: "This isn't just going to be a jumble sale. There will be a great variety of items on offer."

She added the WI wants to lend its support to the Help for Heroes cause for the servicemen and women who return home carrying an injury.

A rugby club in Romsey recently raised £6,700 in aid of the soldier charity when members participated in a 90-mile cycle ride.

According to the Romsey Advertiser, the ride started at the Royal Marine barracks in Taunton, before finishing up in Romsey itself in June.
