A group of extreme sportsmen are going to undertake an ambitious endurance test in an effort to raise cash for Help for Heroes (H4H).
Skateboarders, inline skaters and BMX riders are going to push their machines for 20 miles – the distance from Derby to Swadlincote, the Burton Mail reports.
The project, From Xtreme to Extreme, is the brainchild of James Fairbrother, who hopes the challenge will boost the profile of the sports and raise money for the military charity.
"I have always wanted to do something like this or skateboard-related for charity. It's a good way to get extreme sports noticed and get people involved in it," Mr Fairbrother stated.
He is currently trying to get fit for the event, but because of the poor weather the team are being forced to do their training indoors.
Once the temperature increases, Mr Fairbrother hopes to be able to get outside and on the streets.
