A charity golf tournament in Cornwall has raised £3,500 for Help for Heroes (H4H).
The Perranzabuloe Rotary Club staged the Am-Am Open Golf Championship – for the 19th consecutive year – at the Perranporth Golf Club, the West Briton reports.
Some 42 teams competed in the event and all the prizewinners were given their gongs by David Laud, president of the rotary club.
A presentation evening has been arranged for November 21st and a representative from H4H – which recently celebrated its fifth anniversary as a charity – will be on hand to accept a cheque for the money collected.
John Keers, Mike Rowse and Bruce Edwards – who are members of the Perranporth Golf Club – came out on top with a score of 85 points, closely followed by Dave Saget, Jason Gay and Geoff Hammett on 82 points.
The rotary club extended a big thanks to the golf club for its use of the facilities.
