Help for Heroes (H4H) has benefited from over £1 million thanks to a three-year long fundraising effort by three radio stations.
Smooth, Real Radio and Real XS came together to promote the work of the armed forces charity.
On September 28th, a day of programming was dedicated to H4H and it saw celebrities such as Leona Lewis, Rebecca Ferguson, Dave Stewart and Mick Hucknall help out.
Some £255,000 was collected on the day and this was enough to take the initiative – which was only started back in 2009 – past the £1 million mark.
Real and Smooth Group programme director John Simons said: "This has been yet another incredible year for H4H Day. Our listeners' generosity is truly appreciated and every penny goes towards creating a better life for injured troops and their families."
Bryn Parry, chief executive officer and co-founder of the military charity, praised the support shown by both the radio stations and their listeners.
