A group of fundraisers have been recognised by Help for Heroes (H4H) for their efforts in collecting money.

Friends and family of Private Robbie Laws decided to do their bit to collect cash after the soldier was killed in action, the Bromsgrove Advertiser reports.

Since 2009, nearly £30,000 has been raised for the military charity through a series of initiatives, including charity nights, stalls and a sky dive.

His mum Wendy Laws said: "It means a lot that we are still getting the support of Bromsgrove people, who give generously. We want to thank them and hope they continue to support us next year."

H4H has sent off a certificate of appreciation recognising the work of the group, while they have also been officially thanked.

All of the money raised through the charitable endeavours will help injured servicemen and women as they try to readjust to civilian life.
