The internet sensation that is sure to cheer you up when you're down Grumpy Cat is celebrating a lucrative new contract to become the face of Friskies.

Owned by Nestle Purina PetCare, Friskies cat food is set to showcase the melancholy feline as its official 'spokescat' and it is a move that is set to boost the firm's online image, as Grumpy Cat already has more than one million Facebook followers.

Brand manager Shawn Brain commented: "Enlisting the help of Grumpy Cat allows us to extend our reach to new cat owners.

"She, ironically, makes you smile seeing her face, even if you're sick or having a bad day."
