A charity golf day has helped raise more than £2,000 for soldiers injured while serving their country.
The event – organized by Graham Salway – took place at Oake Manor Golf Club and generated £2,138 for the Help for Heroes charity, the Somerset County Gazette reports.
Winners of the tournament were Rose Jarvis, Kathy Salway and Jane Clist, who each bagged 82 points.
The newspaper observed there was a good turnout at the spectacle by members and non-members alike.
Roger King, John Greenslade Jnr and Dave Jewell finished in joint second, while James Biggs, Francis Barnsley and Tom Warren came in third place.
The fundraiser was held on Friday August 27th.
It was recently revealed staff at the Hog's Head in Cheltenham have agreed to give up a night's wages to raise cash for Help for Heroes.
It is expected proceeds from this act alone will see £250 collected for the cause.
