A special golf day has been held at Holme Hall in Lincolnshire in a bid to raise money for Help for Heroes.

Club captain Chris Overton and president Tony Ibbetson hosted the annual winter competition and the turnout was excellent, with 132 players turning up for 18 holes, reports the Scunthorpe Telegraph.

More than £400 was raised in total and the captain and president chose Help for Heroes as the charity they wanted to support.

And it was not all about the money, as for Emilee Taylor the day was unforgettable for sporting reasons as she carded a hole in one at the fourth hole.

Overall, the team of Andrew Sowerby, John Woodrow, Ian Hill and Ryan Woodrow finished as the winner with 87 points.

Golf days are an effective way to raise cash for Help for Heroes, as people are willing to pay for an enjoyable day and sporting competition.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801656200-ADNFCR
