A golf club has raised £600 in aid of Help for Heroes.
Retford Golf Club held a raffle for the charity, with all the prizes donated by members of the sports team, the Retford Times reports.
To mark the fundraising event, there will be a presentation in the near future to a representative who served in Afghanistan – and money from the club's Valentine's Dance last weekend (Sunday February 12th) also went towards the proceeds.
What's more, a Senior Ladies match took place – but due to the poor weather conditions it was restricted to nine holes.
There has been further generosity to the aid organisation this week as the Coventry Telegraph recently reported on two men who are getting in touch with their feminine side in honour of the charity.
Nicholas Lloyd and Richard Bickerton are set to risk injury and embarrassment by taking part in a paintball contest while wearing tights and tutus.
In addition to this, they plan to walk 20 miles back home still dressed in the attire.
