Questions have been asked of an airport in Turkey after a young child managed to navigate her way through its passport control checks using a document belonging to a toy.

Emily Harris, nine, was travelling with her father Allen to Antalya when she was asked to provide a passport to allow her into the country.

Her mum Nicky had, in a fluster, given the youngster the ID belonging to her toy unicorn rather than her own passport.

She only realised the mistake when the family had made it through the controls and were free to get on with their holiday.

"The passport doesn't even look real – it's got gold teddy bears on the front and was a completely different size from mine and my husband's," Mrs Harris explained.

Instead of a photograph of young Emily, as one would expect to find on a passport, there was a printed image of a pink unicorn in its place.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801599423-ADNFCR
