Criminals come in all different guises, but police in Australia were shocked to discover that the 'burglar' of a charity shop was in fact a giant python.

Officers were called to Ingham in North Queensland to investigate a break-in and found a large hole in the ceiling and a pool of vomit on the floor.

It was not until the next day that their mystery was solved, when the giant snake was found. It weighs in at 17kg and is 19ft long.

Police Sargeant Don Auld, said that initially they thought a burglar had fallen through the roof, before throwing up and falling.

However, it is now believed that the python entered through the roof which was damaged in a cyclone two years ago and then fell through the ceiling and knocked over dishes and clothes before hiding away.

Unfortunately, the charity shop will not be selling the snake as a local catcher was called in and it was then relocated to nearby wetlands.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801611510-ADNFCR
