Youngsters at a girls' school in Kent are running scared of a giant badger, which is said to be causing all manner of problems at the institution.

Some of the students at Folkestone School for Girls are said to be too scored to walk in certain parts of the school because of the creature.

One anonymous parent told the Kent Messenger that the animal has been spotted several times within the grounds of the school and plenty of pupils are scared of it.

"There were tales of it charging at a pupil and then sniffing her, but these are teenage girls who are full of drama. It is a giant badger and it is causing hysteria," the parent added.

Badgers are currently a hot topic in the UK, as the government is planning a cull of the creatures. A petition against this has already attracted 220,000 signatures, illustrating the strength of feeling held for the animals.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801589313-ADNFCR
