Help for Heroes stands to gain from a charity single that was released recently during a parade through a town centre.
More than 100 people created a carnival atmosphere in Leek to mark the launch of Do It For Heroes, which was written by musician Chris Bridgett from the Staffordshire town, reports the Stoke Sentinel.
It is sung by Jumping Jaxxxxx, a band that has been put together specially to record the charity song.
London-based record label Turning Worm has released the tune and it was launched at the public event last Friday (November 29th).
Helen Fox, 48, of Leek, has a son serving in the army and she said of the record: "The song is wonderful … we had the parade with everyone carrying glow sticks, which was led by the band of the 5th Leek St Mary's Scouts and Guides."
She explained the song is not only about the current conflict in Afghanistan, as it covers every battle that has ever taken place.
