Fundraisers from Kedington decided to don an array of fancy dress ensembles as they climbed a series of mountains in honour of Help for Heroes.

Mike Jeffs and Gemma Spurling teamed up to support soldiers and raise money for the charity, the Haverhill Echo reports.

Famous pairings they mimicked include Action Man and Action Girl and Spiderman and Supergirl.

Mr Jeffs says it was an even greater challenge because he cannot stand fancy dress, but it was all worthwhile as they took to the hills of Spain's Finestrat region alongside their climbing instructor.

Ms Spurling, aged 26, had to get over her fear of heights, but the pair both agree they are glad they took on the mission.

"It was pretty intensive and a relief to get it done and afterwards we all had a good laugh at the pictures," Mr Jeffs remarks.

Ex-soldier Simon Buckden is currently in the middle of a gruelling 100-marathon feat, in which he aims to complete the routes over 100 weeks to raise money for Help for Heroes, the Evening Chronicle reports.
