A group of enthusiastic fundraisers have completed a Tough Mudder challenge in order to raise money for Help for Heroes.

What's more, one of the members has not finished yet in his quest to generate as much funding as possible for the good cause. The Grimsby Telegraph has told how Martin Young, 45, has reached his goal of raising £1,000 for Help for Heroes and now he is set to take part in the Great Birmingham Run in October in a bid to add more to the total.

Mr Young put together a team to take part in the Kettering Tough Mudder, which involved tackling steep slopes, mud and electric shocks.

"This Tough Mudder course was far more hilly than the last, which really put paid to the legs – especially for the eldest in the group, but we pulled together as a team," he said.

He had previously completed the challenge with a friend and raised £500, but this time his team has topped the £1,000 mark.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801640288-ADNFCR
