Ellie Butcher – whose husband Matthew is a sergeant in the Rifles – came up with the idea after talking to other families with relatives in the armed forces, the Star reports.

She is currently producing t-shirts and hooded tops along with fellow army wife Kelly Morris, but has plans to expand to dresses and suits in the near future.

Of slogans to go on the products, Ms Butcher remarked: "We want to do things like RAF Dad and other things for the families so people can say ‘we’re proud’."

It is planned that ten per cent of the cash generated will go to army organisations such as Help for Heroes, the source added.

Daily Telegraph reporter Ian Cowie recently stated Help for Heroes has adopted a method of commission-free fundraising by teaming up with Bmycharity.
