An ex-soldier has started his own car repair business and plans to offer jobs to other servicemen who have been injured in battle.

Mark Goodison, a 43-year-old former army mechanic who spent four years in Iraq and had a career in the services that spanned more than 20 years, came up with the idea with other troops specifically in mind, the South Wales Argus reports.

Of such men and women, Mr Goodison said: "Because I understand what they’ve gone through I will be well placed to offer them the new start they are looking for and provide the support they need to re-adjust."

He purchased the Revive! Franchise for Newport and now hopes he will have the means to employ former soldiers within the next six months in an effort to help them back into full-time work.

Army wives Ellie Butcher and Kelly Morris have designed their own clothing range – complete with proud slogans such as RAF Dad – to raise funds and show their support for troops overseas.
