Can you imagine being able to fly in your car?

It would be amazing and could certainly cut out the problem of rush hour traffic in the mornings.

While this may sound like something found in science fiction, it has edged ever closer to becoming reality.

This is because the Terrafugia Transition has completed its first flight and drive conversion test.

The two-seater would act as a personal airplane for people, but could still be parked in a single garage, or used to go down the shops.

Chief operating officer of Terrafugia Anna Mracek Dietrichhe stated: "The successful first flight of this production prototype Transition marks a critical move toward initial production and first delivery."

The sky literally is the limit for this vehicle and unsurprisingly there has been a lot of interest in it.

However, the machine will not come cheap and it is expected to cost around £175,000 whenever released for sale.
