Soldiers have been given the opportunity to unwind and relax at Ravensthorpe Reservoir in Nottingham.

A number of days out have been organised by Fishing For Forces, which offers members of the military various courses and activities to sink their teeth into after they return from the front line.

Speaking to the Nottingham Post, founder of the charity Bill Howell said 240 armed forces personnel have taken to the waterside in 2012 alone.

"It's a great stress buster, it really is. A third of those soldiers and veterans who have enjoyed a day with the charity have since taken up fishing as a hobby," Mr Howell stated.

Corporal Paula Reed was one of those lucky enough to be part of the latest trip and she loved it.

While she admitted getting the technique can take a bit of practice, fishing is a great way to unwind in a setting that also encourages team building.
