Barningham resident Maureen “Mo” Blogg is ready to get rid of 24 inches of hair to recognise the incredible sacrifice and heroics of servicemen and women all across the UK.

According to the Bury Free Press, Ms Blogg is currently a self-employed massage therapist, but was an eight-year veteran of the Women’s Royal Naval Service. Her husband, Tim, was also in the forces, serving in the Royal Navy for 23 years.

If this dedication wasn’t enough from the pair, it seems Ms Blogg is will to go an extra mile to help those who are currently still serving their country, or who need support after returning from some of the world’s most dangerous areas.

After speaking with many people who have served and their families, Ms Blogg believes that the foundations aimed at providing support are “good causes”. To this end, she intends to shave her head completely to raise as much money as possible.

“A couple of weeks ago I started feeling nervous, but now I’ve told everybody I’ve got to do it and am quite looking forward to it,” she told the local news provider.

You can’t fault her ambition; with Ms Blogg’s head shave aiming to raise £800 to help British soldiers and other members of the service.

While you can attend the event at the Arc shopping centre in Bury St. Edmunds on October 11th, 2pm, there are also other ways you can help support.

Ms Blogg has set up a Just Giving page for charitable donations, accessible via this link. You can also text mosy55 to 70070.

This is just another example of an imaginative way to help raise money for those who have already given so much. After years of dedicated service, it’s amazing that Ms Blogg is still willing to do all she can to help brave service people all over the UK.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801747561-ADNFCR
