The Prince Regent Hotel in Chigwell, Essex, was recently home to a charity black tie dinner event for Help for Heroes (H4H).

The Romford Recorder reports that the event was hosted by Clintons Management managing director Kevin Clarke, and that it may have helped him raise as much as £10,000 for the charity.

L-Sgt Nathan Cumberland was a speaker at the event. According to the news provider, this veteran soldier lost his legs in Afghanistan after he stepped on an explosive while an ambush was taking place.

He spoke about how Help for Heroes has supported him in regaining his life after the incident.

“I am very committed to H4H as I have seen first-hand the good work that they do," the H4H ambassador explained, according to the Recorder.

And Mr Clark explained that much of his success in fundraising could be attributed to Mr Cumberland's speech, which received a standing ovation.

“From the event we have raised £5,000 and have got sponsorship coming in from it too," he said.

The managing director is planning to take part in H4H's Big Battlefield Bike Ride to raise even more cash for the charity.

Earlier this month, H4H launched a concession area within Debenhams in the city centre area of Southampton.

The retail area opened May 10th and is raising money to help the charity support people that have served the nation and sustained illnesses or injuries.

Further Denhams H4H retail concession are planned for the UK.

The new concession is offering new products with H4H branding, such as sportswear for sale.

“We are delighted with the expansion of Help for Heroes Trading Limited through this partnership with Debenhams. It not only allows us to spread awareness about the charity but it will also bring in more money to support our heroes," commented executive chairman of H4H, Emma Parry.

The  Debenhams concession space has been provided to the charity for free by the chain.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801722532-ADNFCR
