Emma Watson: US men are much more forward

Harry Potter actress Emma Watson has admitted that US men are much more forward when it comes to dating.

Watson, who made her name playing Hermione Granger in the film series, told US talk show host Ellen DeGeneres that she was surprised by how upfront males were when she attended Brown University for a year.

The star admitted it was a bit of a culture shock, especially when it came to courting, because she had become so used to being ignored for two months before boys would ask her out. 

"English guys are very well put together. They dress really well and they are very well mannered, but they are also very restrained," she added.

However, Watson added that there are elements of US men that she did not like – most notably their habit of always wearing flip flops and the fact they can be very open and straightforward.
