Everybody knows someone who has a t-shirt carrying an amusing slogan.

They are very popular these days and the messages are generally meant to poke fun at an issue in a trivial manner.

However, with little irony a New Yorker has been caught drink driving while wearing a top that said: "I'm not an alcoholic. I'm a drunk. Alcoholics go to meetings."

Kevin Daly ploughed into the back of a police car in Suffolk County after consuming too many beers.

His law breaking was even worse when you consider the t-shirt he was wearing, and his mug shot has been released by the cops to make an example of him.

Daly wasn't hurt in the crash, but the officer – who was on drink drive duty – was taken to the hospital.

As stupid as this sounds, it has actually happened before. Last year James Johnson was arrested for being over the limit while sporting a top saying: "I have a drinking problem".
