Most people do not like traffic wardens, as all they seem to do is annoy everyone by enforcing laws that can sometimes appear arbitrary.

However, one motorist was left fuming after he picked up a ticket for parking his car in Derby.

Patrick McCrystal had been leaving his vehicle in the same spot for over two years without any problems.

But this all changed after he came back to his motor to notice that double yellow lines had been drawn underneath it and a ticket had been issued for illegal parking.

"When I parked there were double yellows in front of my car, double yellows behind my car, but nothing in between," Mr McCrystal observed.

To add insult to injury, there were even spots of yellow paint on his front bumper.

Unsurprisingly, Mr McCrystal complained to Derby City Council and they rescinded the penalty and issued an apology, although he'll not be able to park in the spot anymore.
