But there is also a worry that some people who use online dating sites might find the choice is so wide that they become unnecessarily picky as a result.

Joshua Pompey, writing a blog for the Huffington Post, has confessed to being impressed by the plus points, but added some people could now be too choosy as a result of online dating.

He explained that men and women are now arriving at dates with a checklist of qualities they are looking for, which may lead to them prematurely binning prospective partners.
