The whole idea that we are not alone in the universe is one that splits opinion almost as much as the Kardashians, with some people believing that aliens exist while others believe sightings and abductions are no more than elaborate hoaxes.

The debate over the existence of extraterrestrial beings was ramped up this week, however, with the posting of a new video on YouTube that allegedly shows a car mysteriously disappearing following a supposed abduction.

Grainy CCTV footage from North Dakota shows a quiet street at night time with only a couple of cars around. While the image remains pretty steady for the most part, at one point a car drives towards the camera before disappearing completely in a flash of light.

Whether it is a genuine rare view of an abduction in action or simply a glitch on the camera, it's sure to be a video that opens debate among sceptics and believers alike. With more than 750,000 views already, it seems to certainly be grabbing the attention.

UFO expert Nigel Watson, who wrote Haynes, UFO Investigations Manual, is somewhat sceptical, but told Metro: "It is very rare to get film footage of an actual alien abduction. However, in this case we do not know who was in the car or if the occupants have gone missing.

"Before we start thinking of aliens abducting a car inside a flying saucer, I wonder if this is some kind of camera glitch or flash of light that caused the camera to have a temporary fault, and when it switched back on the car had simply driven out of view."

While the chances of this being footage of an actual abduction seems unlikely, we're sure that this video will be doing the rounds for some time to come, with some awaiting the arrival of those from above. ADNFCR-2867-ID-801759694-ADNFCR
