Members of the public will belt out hit after hit at Amar Hall in Dartford, Kent at the end of the month to raise money for soldiers injured in Iraq and Afghanistan.

A Help for Heroes sing-a-long, organised by former troops Darren Riley and John Scott, will be held on January 29th to generate funds for the charity.

More than £1 million has been raised since 2007 and the team behind the event are hoping people can come down to the hall and sing a song or two to help those injured while defending Queen and country.

Avtar Sandhu, manager of the venue, told the News Shopper that a little effort from all can make a big difference.

"We are proud to be hosting our first ever Help For Heroes event and look forward to raising a substantial amount of money for the charity," he said.

The charity was founded by Bryn and Emma Parry after paying a moving visit to Selly Oak Hospital in 2007.
