A man who spends his life impersonating legendary television character Del Trotter has been threatened with arrest by police after being found to have a blow-up doll in the back of his van.
Richard Foster was stopped by cops in Bognor Regis after they discovered he was keeping one of the dolls in the back of the three-wheel van, just as Del Boy did in one famous scene in Only Fools and Horses.
"The officer was a real jobsworth and he would not let me go until I got rid of the dolls. He said deflate the doll or I will take you to the station," Mr Foster told the Metro.
He was threatened with arrest under Section 5 of the Public Order Act, after the policeman involved deemed the doll to be unsuitable for "family viewing".
In the television classic, Del Boy is forced to make a late-night dash across London with a set of blow-up dolls, which he is unaware are filled with an explosive gas.
