David and Joanne found to be the unluckiest names

Naming a child is a very special moment for any parent.

However, mums and dads may want to stay clear of David and Joanne, as they are the unluckiest male and female names in the UK.

Research by personal injury experts Edwards Hoyle found individuals called one of these two names are more likely than anyone else to trip over, pull muscles or cut themselves.

David Edwards from the organisation said: "Our data shows they are far and above the most likely victims of personal injury, so we advise them to take extra care when leaving the house in the morning."

The unluckiest year of birth was 1989, which means any Davids or Joannes who are 23 could be in big trouble!

I'm sure David Cameron, David Beckham and Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta – better known as Lady GaGa – will not lose too much sleep over the research, although they may want to start exercising a bit more caution just to be sure.
