Danny Dyer has spoken about his role as a soldier in upcoming movie Age of Heroes, which he says he took very seriously.

The British actor plays a trooper involved in the 30 Commando unit during World War II and he met with some of those currently serving in the armed forces to prepare, Music Rooms reports.

"As part of the charity Help for Heroes, what we did was we got some injured soldiers to come and join us on set," Dyer explains.

He claims to have remained focused on the task at hand, ensuring he learnt his lines for the film, in which he stars alongside Sean Bean.

Bean was recently quoted by the Daily Mail saying it is the right time for people to hear the story of the 30 Commando unit.

Dyer wants his audience to believe in his character and this is his motive for taking the task "very, very seriously", he admits.
