A cycling fundraiser that will see riders pedalling coast-to-coast is to be held in a bid to generate funds for soldiers injured in battle.

The group from Park Academy in Sheffield are to set off from Morecombe on June 2nd and will journey all the way over to Bridlington – a 179 mile trip, theStar.co.uk reports.

Steve Rastall has organised the challenge and will be joined in the saddle by Steve Warrillow, Gary Machin, Andrew Mathews, Steve Cullen, Craig Malkin, Gordon Makenzie, Chris Motley and Cameron Barr.

A support driver – in the form of Ian Clamp – will also be involved.

Mr Rastall said: "The work our troops do is second to none and I feel that as individuals we can help those that have been wounded."

The Bromsgrove Advertiser recently reported that a fitness event arranged by Chris Barnett and Sharron Kibble raised in excess of £360 for the Help for Heroes cause.
