Courageous squirrel survives Lamborghini encounter

Ever heard the one about the squirrel who could outrun a Lamborghini?

As stupid as it sounds, this is what happened when a Lamborghini LP670-4 SV going over 100 mph was out on the track at the California Speedway in Fontana.

The feisty animal put its foot on the gas to charge across the speedway and managed to emerge from the meeting with its health intact.

Despite the fact the supercar was breathing down its neck, the creature kept its cool and allowed the metallic orange vehicle to pass.

Since being posted on YouTube, the video has gone viral and the plucky squirrel has become something of a cult figure.

Elie Rothstein, one of the owners of Al & Ed's Autosound – which hosted the event – told the Post Game: "We had cameras set up all over the track. Only a couple days later do we see this. And I was like, 'What?' It blows your mind."
