Some men worry about going grey and fear it might mean the end of their days as an attractive prospect to single ladies, but in fact being a silver fox can actually make them more appealing than ever.

New research by Celebalike found George Clooney is the world's sexiest silver fox, as he topped a poll of 2,000 people, all of whom were asked to name their most desirable gentleman with grey hair.

Hollywood star Clooney beat the likes of Pierce Brosnan and Phillip Schofield, who finished second and third respectively, while Pretty Woman actor Richard Gere, singer Robbie Williams and Harrison Ford were also named as good-looking alternatives.

Rounding off the top ten were Sean Connery, Liam Neeson, swimmer Mark Foster and Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho, all of whom were identified as handsome men with silver locks.

A spokesman for Celebalike said: "To many, a silver fox doesn't mean they look old and tired. It comes across as a more distinguished look and encourages many to grow old gracefully."

It seems there are a huge number of silver foxes who have caught the eye of women all over the UK, as other notable names to have gone grey gracefully include Match of the Day host Gary Lineker, Friends actor Matt LeBlanc and television personality Paul Hollywood.

The Celebalike representative added: "Celebrities of this age inspire men to avoid worrying about how they are going to look as they get older – you aren't going to lose your good looks if you take care of yourself."

With so many sexy grey-haired men around, those who are currently single should give online dating a go in a bid to find true love.

Online dating sites have a large number of people looking for a partner and provide a chance for individuals to get to know someone before they agree to a date with them.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801654796-ADNFCR
